The Jubilee Singers Review

The Jubilee Singers

Before I got the album, I was glad to read that we would hear more of the Gallery. When I heard the episode I wasn't let down either. Using the Gallery they have another way of telling stories without using the Imagination Station, or a main character telling. In these episodes Frederick Douglas tells the story of the Jubilee Singers. Unlike others, I kinda like the voice for Frederick Douglas. His voice helps me picture the character, like most of the characters in Odyssey.
I was glad to hear another episode with Red. In a way it increased the humor factor in the beginning. I think I said this before, but I will say it again. I think Red will prove to be a promising character, with many fun quotes in the future.  This episode definitely had an awesome story to it, along with great music/songs. The music style was well done, and I really liked that it had a southern gospel feel to it.I recognized some of the songs. One of them I sang with my school choir!
My rating:
Theme: 5/5
Humor: 4.5/5
Action: 5/5
Total Rating: 5/5

This episode is by far the best in album 51. If by some chance you missed the others in this album, The Jubilee Singers is one you definitely don't want to miss hearing.

Well that ends the reviews for album 51. Album 52 doesn't start airing until October. What will we do in the mean time? Well Audry of AIO Insanity hit her 100th post and has a podcast up, and if you want to hear what Marvin of The AIO Fan's Life sounds like, you can hear him on his blog as well.  If you're curious what the upcoming summer schedule looks like, you can check it out: May, June, July

That's all for now. This is Freddy Jay saying "School's Out for the summer!"

  1. We seem to be out of the trend when it comes to putting out audio clips.

  2. I've been thinking about maybe trying to do what Audrey did, except a lot shorter. I wouldn't give you a self-portrait, just a little taste of my horrible voice that you guys seem to think you'll like.

  3. It's not that I dislike my voice, I would even do a podcast, but I don't have a co-host so it would be boring.

  4. I've thought about helping out the host of the Whitsend podcast, (he's looking for a co-host, or at least he was) but my voice often sounds tired and groggy...and I really don't care for it on recordings. And besides...I don't think I'd have a way of recording it anyhow.....

  5. Yah, too bad in real life I don't know any real Odyssey fans or else I'd jump on a podcast "like a duck on a dune bug".

  6. LOL. Yeah, I would be pretty boring without a co-host as well. Hey, since Jacob and I live like 10 miles away from each other, maybe he could do the podcast with me. But there's still that problem with my voice. I've never liked it, but actually I haven't heard a recording of myself since my voice changed. Maybe I do like my voice. I oughta check that out.

  7. Do you think it would be a dumb idea for, hypothetically, someone to do a short podcast doing their normal voice and have a co-host that is them with another voice? Tell me what you think.

  8. If you could pull it off that seems like an interesting idea. I know some people have done co-host podcasts using skype. I think that's what the heart of Odyssey does. Therefore you wouldn't necessarily have to be in the same room or even the same state as your co-host.

  9. Both ideas sound pretty good. I think I could make two very different voices. I'm not on Skype though, so that wouldn't work for me.

  10. It would be cool if some of us bloggers could do a podcast.
